Dead Bat on Wires

This pic has a hilarious story. Firstly though, an apology for the quality of the pic. I don't have a scanner, and my camera had a lot of trouble picking up the lead I used to draw it. Okay, the story of this pic is as follows:

For about a week now there has been a dead bat hanging from the power lines outside the Bathurst Gaol, on the highway. It grabbed to wires at the same time, electrocuting itself (as seen by the fact that the bat is hanging onto two wires... ^^')

I have been itching to draw it all week (you know that crazy itch where you just HAVE to draw something?) and we finally remembered and stopped there on the way home so I could, so there it was, there I was, and hence came this pic into being!! The funny part of the story (funny as in random, odd, amazing timing) is that just after we got there, there was a big car crash about 50 metres down the highway. Many emergency vehicles and three different angles of this bat later, the crash was cleaned up and me and mum continued on our merry way home

It was sooo gross- the whole I was drawing this pic, flies kept crawling in and out of its eye sockets... *shudder*

EDIT: As at 27/May/2010, there is another bat hanging dead on those wires... o_O Must be a hot-spot for bats who just can't take life anymore and need a quick way out...
